Materials

Each piece is stoneware, shaped entirely by hand. All of our glazes are food-safe and lead-free.

Product care and use

Give your piece a first wash before its first use.

Our pieces are dishwasher safe, though hand washing is kinder to the finish: warm water, mild soap, a soft sponge. Skip steel wool and abrasive scrubbers.

Microwave safe, with one note: surfaces can become extremely hot, so handle with care. Avoid sudden changes in temperature, like boiling water into a cold cup, as thermal shock is the most common way ceramics crack. Our pieces are not made for the oven, stovetop, or open flame.

Details

Each piece is artisan-made, one by one. Variations in color, shape, and texture are expected; no two pieces are exactly alike.

Coffee and tea may slowly tint the glaze over time; a paste of baking soda and water lifts it gently. Store plates and bowls with a soft cloth between them to protect the edges. Like all things made by hand, your piece will soften and gain character with use. Read more about our handmade process.
