About us

We create everyday objects designed to turn routine into ritual. We believe pieces made with intention elevate the ordinary, and that nothing compares to the imperfect beauty of the handmade.

We design for collectors of moments: the ones who savor their cafecito, who romanticize the everyday, and who care about the stories behind the objects in their homes.

The process

Every Casa Azua piece is made by hand.

We combine traditional craftsmanship with a design forward approach. The hands that bring our pieces to life come from generations of ceramicists. Each piece is shaped and painted one by one, so no two are ever exactly alike.

In a world that moves fast and runs on efficiency, we find strength in slowing down. Variations in color, texture, and form are not flaws. They are the signature of the hand that made it.

Our story

Casa Azua began as a passion project, a side thing for a few months, until February 2025, when the Casa Azua we know today was officially founded. It was born from a love for the in between moments, the coffee ritual, and the belief that the objects we reach for every day shape how a day feels.

I grew up in Ecuador, where the smell of coffee from the moka pot opened every morning. My dad taught me his ritual: coffee black, sipped slowly. Years later, moving between cities and countries with my life packed into two suitcases, that ritual became my one constant. And there was always room in the luggage for my mugs.

Casa Azua honors that sense of ritual, and the richness of Latin American craftsmanship I'm proud to share with the world. Our style is classy with a twist: raw, imperfect, the kind of objects that spark conversation.

The story of the name

The original Casa Azua dates back to 1900. Casa means home in Spanish, and Azua is my family name: the company my great-grandparents founded in Ecuador. It closed before I was born, but their impact on the local community left a mark. The original Casa Azua building still stands as a museum today in Manta, Ecuador.

That heritage extends through everything we do. Our signature styles are named after my mom and my grandmothers, the pieces we create are a celebration of the traditions and routines I grew up with, and everything we share with you will always come from Latin American hands.

Welcome to Casa Azua,
Domenica Azua
